Following Jesus in nonviolent struggle for justice and peace, we love our neighbors and enemies as God loves us all, becoming a peace church to share in God’s work to save the world.

Partner Connections

PEACE CHURCH PARTNERS

Begin a relationship with one other person around the shared belief that the church must be in the world as Jesus was in the world, that is, nonviolently.

"As you have sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world." ~ John 17:18
  1. Acknowledge that you need help -- you cannot do it alone.
  2. Find one person who will share your intention to imitate Jesus' way of being in the world.
  3. Meet once with that person to explore some implications of living out your shared call to be in the world as Jesus was in the world. Decide whether you will form a relationship, and if so, the schedule of your meetings and the term of your commitment to one another.
  4. In your times together, begin to discern the implications of Every Church A Peace Church for your life, your church and the global church.
  5. Draw on the resources of Every Church A Peace Church for your growth and discernment, using this website and spreading the website to other interested people.
  6. Practice attentive listening, Bible study (Jesus in Bible), prayer, acts of service and justice, and mutual accountability in your relationship.
  7. Decide how you will act, individually or together, to implement the Every Church A Peace Church vision in an ever-widening circle. Consider starting a Just Peacemaking Recovery Group, speaking to your local congregation/faith community, addressing your district or denominational structure, speaking, traveling, using the internet -- discern your call, and act.

"In those days Mary set out and went with haste to a Judean town in the hill country, where she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth.... And Mary remained with her about three months and then returned to her home." ~ Luke 1
