URGENT COLOMBIA ACTION - CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVE!

International human rights volunteers in Colombia have been threatened with arrest and deportation. On May 27, the President of Colombia Alvaro Uribe Velez, made public statements threatening the leaders of the Peace Community of San José de Apartadó and the international groups present there (which include Fellowship of Reconciliation volunteers) with arrest for alleged "obstruction of justice."
Representatives Janice Schakowsky and James McGovern are currently circulating a letter in congress regarding declarations by the President of Colombia Alvaro Uribe Velez that could put international volunteers in Colombia and the communities they work with at risk. Ask your Congressional Representative to support international volunteers in San José and elsewhere in Colombia.
