Following Jesus in nonviolent struggle for justice and peace, we love our neighbors and enemies as God loves us all, becoming a peace church to share in Gods work to save the world.

Thursday 1/16/03 Peace College "Arms for the Poor"

View Archives

The second session of the Peace College at Forest Hills Mennonite Church last evening included a screening of "Arms for the Poor" on US weapons promotion and sales around the world, and a personal report by Ally Styan, of Lancaster, on her recent trip to Colombia. These two inputs presented a good bit of new information for some in attendance, and there was an impassioned speech by one person to the effect that this was not a balanced presentation -- that it did not present a balanced picture of America and its foreign policy.

The video is available from the Maryknoll Missionary society at http://maryknoll.org/MALL/VIDEO/vpeacejusticej2.htm Or you might be able to borrow it from your denminational resources office. --John Stoner
