      It was a good meeting of the CPT Steering Committee, at Hesston Mennonite Church, on the edge of the Hesston College Campus in Hesston, Kansas. (Thats about 50 miles NW of Wichita.) I represented ECAPC at this meeting of the CPT governing body.

    We heard reports from the support team, about the projects in Colombia, Iraq, and Palestine (Hebron and At-Tuwani), and ongoing continuing involvement in Arizona (immigration) and Kenora, Ontario (aboriginal rights). An women's delegation to Eastern Congo left yesterday, to support women victims of rape and explore potential for a CPT presence there.

    The hostage crisis and martyrdom of Tom Fox in Iraq this year has resulted in much more awareness of CPT globally. Fiinancial support is up in the first six months of this year by 50%. But CPT needs more volunteers.

    Participation in a delegation is a first step toward CPT training and engagement. Please look at the upcoming delegations, to Arizona, Colombia, Iraq, Ontario, Palestine/Israel. Here is all the information http://www.cpt.org/delegations/delegations.php
